SCHOLARSHIP
INFORMATION
The Italian Workmen's Club of Madison, WI is currently offering a single
scholarship. In the future the Sam D. Amato Memorial Scholarship will be
added back into the scholarships offered as well. The information on the current
scholarship programs are as follows:

ITALIAN WORKMAN'S
CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
Each year the Italian Workmen's Club, Madison, Wisconsin, will award a
scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a senior boy and girl who is graduating
from a Dane County High school and intending to go on to some form of higher
education.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the Italian Workmen's Club Scholarship, applicants must meet
the following requirements:
- Be a senior in a Dane County high school.
- Intend to go on to higher education (higher education will be considered
enrolling in a course of at least two year duration at a college, university
or technical school which has as its objective the securing of a degree in
advance of a high school diploma).
- Intend to enroll as a full-time student in an institution of higher
education.
- Must be of Italian descent. (Defined as having one parent, grandparent
or great-grandparent of Italian extraction or having an Italian surname.)
BASIS OF AWARD
The Italian Workmen's Club Scholarship will be awarded to a student based upon
the following criteria:
- Scholastic ability (i.e. grades and scholastic aptitude).
- Need of the student for financial aid.
- Contributions of the applicant to the community.
- Personal recommendations of community leaders.
- Association of the applicant's parents or other relatives with Italian
Workmen's Club.
APPLICATIONS
- Applications shall be submitted to the Italian Workmen's Club
Scholarship Committee on or before April 15 of each year.
- Applications will be reviewed by the Italian Workmen's Scholarship
Committee. The Committee will determine a winner on or Before May 15 of each
year.
- Determination of the winner will be at the sole discretion of the
Italian Workmen's Scholarship Committee. A member of the Committee who has a
relative applying for this scholarship shall not participate in
determination of the merits of that relative's application.
- The winners of the scholarship shall be announced on or about June 1st
of each year.
- Two scholarships will be awarded: one to a male and one to a female. (If
two worthy applicants, male and female, cannot be found, two awards may be
presented to two males or two awards may be presented to two females.)
- The amount of each scholarship shall be $1,000
